God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen Linen Figure by Jill Pargeter

These joyous standing figures are made from hand printed pure linen and filled with wadding and seasonal spices. The figure is free standing with a wooden base and is hand sewn and trimmed with lace.

Jill Pargeter Artist's Statement:

"I have been working as a printmaker and designer for over thirty years after studying printed textiles at Manchester Polytechnic. All of my work is handmade to my original designs from printing, stitching and finishing the final pieces.

My work is inspired by folk art and the Arts & Crafts Movement and it combines my love of history, nature and poetic verse. My designs are hand drawn and then screen printed onto fabrics from which I produce a range of decorative objects for the home."
