Fernandez is a Bolivian artist based in London. Printmaking is a fundamental part of her practice; however, her work involves a variety of other processes which include sculpture, photography, painting and others. Using her sculptures as the foundation of her work, Fernandez creates prints with a sense of movement and storytelling. Fernandez moved to London in 2011 for her BA and completed a master's degree in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts in 2017. She has been working in print in London ever since. To support her practice, Fernandez has worked as a printer editioning for various artists and as a print technician at Camberwell College of Arts.

My work has many stages, the foundation of it is the sculptures I make in plaster or Jesmonite. I use these as tools to create windows to uncanny scenes. I play with the precarious nature of the sculptures, suggesting movement through drawing, repetition and collage, using printmaking to hold the composition forever fixed in place. Sequence is a recurrent theme throughout my practice. By mirroring and creating parallels in my compositions I try to emphasise the sense that there is a before and an after, a suggestion of a longer story. The sculptures are not necessarily literal representations but hope to evoke a feeling and perhaps nudge a memory for the viewer.
