March Letterpress Card by Gordon Chesterman

March Letterpress Card by Gordon Chesterman

March by William Morris, a letterpressed card produced by Cambridge Letterpress artist, Gordon Chesterman. Gordon started letterpress printing when he was 14, in the distant days before computers, desk top publishing and laser printers, and hasn’t stopped since.

About the Maker:

With a background in London College of Printing and experience at De La Rue, a prominent banknote printing company, Gordon Chesterman's career has shifted away from print since joining Cambridge University. Despite this, he continues to pursue print as a hobby and has noticed a resurgence in the popularity of letterpress for various materials such as posters, invitations, stationery, and hand-bound books.

Gordon owns three printing presses, with one being a Stephenson Blake proofing press from the 1920s located at Little Ouse studios in North Ely, and the others housed in his home in Cambridge.
